WILL school of Antipolo (WSAI) held its local elections on June 22 for new seats of 2019 Student Council Officers (SCO).

Student voters elected candidates for president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and grades 4 – 6 coordinators.

A total of 14 individuals vied for the posts. While two party lists worked their way through local canvas.

The Service Team, one of the party lists, was headed by team manager Jillene Quiñanola. The Unity Team, on the other hand, was led by team manager Anjelika Gatus.

Each party list discussed their different platforms.

Service Team talked about the High School night, Junk Friday, Honesty Store, Stress no more, and Valentine’s Ball.

Meanwhile, the Unity Team discussed the suggestion box, chants per section, Parent and Child Craft, other extra activities, and establishing savings per classroom.

“No to Vote Buying”–COMELEC

As the two party lists rallied their ways to the posts, other students established a COMELEC (Commission of Election). The COMELEC, also with the student’s body, taught the other students on how to vote properly. They discussed the election rules and regulations. 

“No to Vote Buying,” says COMELEC. The group highlighted the importance of voting wisely for the benefit of the school year 2019-2020.

Getting the new sets of student officials

On June 23, after more than 24 hours, the votings have closed. Jhastine Balita was proclaimed as WSAIN’s new SCO president. Kein Alexismae Dela Cruz won as the Vice President.

The other winners declared were Laura Rosabelle Balingit for Secretary and Annika Dela Cruz for treasurer.

For the coordinators, Isabelle Junio from the 4th Graders, Xander Cailing from the 5th Graders, and Danica Ella Rebellon from the 6th Graders each took their places.

The winners were recognized by the students on the ground floor. Mr. Cristobal Balingit announced the total of votes for each candidate.

The difference between the votes of each candidate was just an inch to go. Each candidate really set the real battle for the opposition.

The invocation of the new set of SCOs will be held in August, during the 2nd Quarter PEP.
