WILL School of Antipolo, Inc. annually celebrates Nutrition Month in July. This year’s event had the theme “Eat Fruits and Veggies and Do Physical Activities: Keeping One’s Self Healthy and Happy” while still observing WSAI’s unique ways of celebrating the event.

The activities aimed to remind each student on the importance of good eating and exercising habits.

WSAI promotes a healthy lifestyle through its programs such as One-Fruit-A-Day, Veggie Monday, and Friday.

“Well, I am hopeful that fruits and vegetables will become a regular part of our diet,” says Dr. Beth A. Torres, School Directress.

NUTRIJINGLE

The Nutrijingle that happened on July 30 filled the assembly hall with students and unique performances the students prepared for.

In the High School Division, the 9th Graders aced the First Place. In the Intermediate Division, Grades 4 to 6, the 6th Graders won First Place. The 2nd and 3rd Graders tied for Championship in the lower levels, Grades 1 to 3.

“I felt happy, nervous, and excited,” Danica Ella Rebellon, 6th Grader, shares her experience after the results were out.

HEALTH IN DIET

The students also had “One Fruit a Day”, “Veggie Monday and Friday”, and “No Meat Day” throughout the month. These have successfully ongoing for almost 5 years in WSAI.

The activities were implemented early in the school year and will continue throughout.

These days are when students don’t bring and eat meat for snacks and lunch. Instead, they bring in healthy vegetables on Fridays and Mondays and a fruit every day as the names suggest.
