“Sign language is a dance with words,” author Marilyn Daniels says in her book.
Last September 13, WILL School had a one-day workshop on Sign Language. The event was led by Ms. Susan Villaraza who taught both students and teachers how to communicate using different sign languages.
“It is an activity that helps students and teachers to build a bridge of understanding for people who are deaf,” stated Dr. Belinda Torres, School Directress, to further explain the goal of the event.
One of the participating students said it was a thoughtful thing to do for those who have difficulty hearing, as the workshop provided them with the mindset of being accepting and understanding to those who are different.
